There is a saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck, which signifies your marriage will last. The saying goes that if you get a knot wet in a rope wet, it’s extremely hard to untie, so if you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage would be hard to unravel. I tell you this because It rained the entire time on Joe and Sarah’s elopement day. We spent the day wandering around downtown Santa Barbara looking for dry spots, before heading to the Santa Barbara Courthouse for their ceremony. We found a dry, quiet spot in a hallway for them to exchange their private vows before the county clerk married them after we braved the elements, rain, and a little wind and finished the evening at the beach. Congratulations again, you two.
