It always makes me happy to capture weddings and elopements in some of the most breathtaking locations on earth. And when it comes to epic views, Big Sur is definitely one of my favorite locations to photograph. I recently had the pleasure of photographing Sapna and Alvin’s elopement at Garrapata State Beach, and despite the rainy weather, it was an incredible day.
We started the day at the Carmel River Inn, where Sapna and Alvin prepared for their big day. After a beautiful first look, some portraits, and a little cake-cutting. After we headed to Bixby Bridge for a couple of photos in between the rain showers, despite the rough weather and the 43-degree temperature outside, we persisted and were able to capture some stunning shots. We then made our way to Garrapata State Beach for their cliffside ceremony, which was just breathtaking. The sun started peering out from behind the clouds just in time for the ceremony, creating a beautiful backdrop for the couple’s vows.
After the ceremony, we took some photos along the beach. We ended the day with champagne and pizza, celebrating the love of Sapna and Alvin. It was an honor to photograph and officiate for them on their special day, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to document their love story in such a beautiful location.
If you’re considering eloping in Big Sur, I can’t recommend it enough. The views are absolutely stunning, and there’s something magical about being surrounded by nature and the ocean. Congratulations again to Sapna and Alvin, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your elopement.
